Overview

Transvaginal Sonography (TVS) is a diagnostic ultrasound procedure used to examine the vagina, uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, and bladder. A specially designed ultrasound probe is gently inserted into the vagina, allowing sound waves to bounce off pelvic organs and create detailed internal images called sonograms.

This procedure, also known as a transvaginal ultrasound or pelvic ultrasound, provides clearer imaging than abdominal scans and helps in accurate evaluation of reproductive organs.

At Samarth Diagnostic Center, we use advanced ultrasound technology and experienced sonographers to deliver precise imaging in a comfortable and compassionate environment tailored to women’s healthcare needs.

Outlook & Reporting

Transvaginal ultrasound carries minimal to no risk, though slight discomfort may occur. The procedure typically takes 30–60 minutes, and reports are usually available within 24 hours.

If clearer imaging is required, a pelvic or abdominal ultrasound may also be performed. In cases where patients experience discomfort, a transabdominal ultrasound may be recommended as an alternative approach.
